The Laramie Project offers a profound and intricate exploration of how a community grapples with the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a young gay man in Laramie, Wyoming. Through a series of testimonies with a theatre company, the town's residents express their shock, anger, and grief in response to the hate crime and the ensuing media frenzy.
*Trigger Warning* Please be advised that this play contains sensitive subjects that might be triggering to some individuals including; themes of hate, offensive language (including slurs), and discussions of suicide, hate crimes, violence, and murder.
The play captures the personal impact of Matthew's death on the individuals within the town and on an international scale. The Laramie Project both highlights the resilience of the human spirit and brings to light the depths we can hate.
So many years later, Matthew Shepard's story continues to resonate and reflect on us, serving as a powerful reminder to confront the destructive forces of hate.
Tickets are also available at the door. Additionally, make sure to arrive 15 minutes before showtime, as any unclaimed seats will be sold as needed.
