Merle Haggard has been called “the greatest country artist of our time” and to date he has written hundreds of songs, and over 40 of his singles have attained the number 1 position on charts in North America!Haggard has released over 65 albums, many of which have been certified gold, and he has been nominated 42 times for Country Music Association Awards, more than any other male country entertainer in history., plus he has won a Grammy award. Some of his outstanding contributions to country music include, the songs “Today I started Loving you Again”, Silver Wings, Lonesome Fugitive, Sing Me back Home, Branded Man, Mama Tried, Workin Man Blues,, Big City, and Okie from Muskogee.
Merle Haggard and his band The Strangers are going to include a stop at the Kelowna Community Theatre during their Canadian tour on the 12th of March. It will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for people in the area to see a true legend within an intimate theatre setting.
Regretfully due to the capacity of the Kelowna Community Theatre only 830 people will get that opportunity, so we advise getting your tickets early to avoid disappointment later.
