Description:

Bring your lunch and join us for another fascinating lunchbox talk to chew on while you eat.

David Wilson Sookinakin will share the story of his life and journey as a Syilx artist. He will also speak about his current installation, 'Water Travels a Cycle', which is on view at the Kelowna Art Gallery's Satellite Space at the Kelowna International Airport.

David Wilson Sookinakin was born and raised in the Vernon area and is a member of the Okanagan Indian Band. He learned Native art forms from Coastal Salish and Haida Artists in Vancouver, and eventually drew inspiration from his connection to the Okanagan Nation. Wilson has developed his own unique style, combining vibrant colours and linear forms within a circle picture. His art work draws on the symbols and stories of his Okanagan First Nations heritage and culture with an emphasis on the meaning and symbolism of the art of the Okanagan People.

This event is FREE and open to the public to attend.
