Renowned Clarinetist Connie Gitlin and Acclaimed Guitarist Adam Dobres will be performing a selection of Klezmer music and more. Both are well known B.C. musicians who have performed together in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island. As well, each have performed concerts around the world.
Klezmer music originated in the Jewish villages of Europe and refers to the musical genre that is typical of Jewish roots. Klezmer is easily identifiable by its characteristic expressive melodies, reminiscent of the human voice complete with laughing and weeping. It also incorporates some elements of jazz. Individuals from the general public are most welcome to come and experience the soulful sound of Klezmer music and enjoy a night of fun and frolic.
