The BC Cancer Foundation's 7th Annual Discovery Luncheon Fundraiser will support the purchase of a PET/CT Scanner (Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography) for our local cancer centre, the BC Cancer Agency Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre for the Southern Interior.
Over the past six years we’ve raised $600,000 for research and enhancements to patient care. The seventh annual Discovery Luncheon will support the BC Cancer Foundation’s $5 million fundraising initiative to bring a PET/CT (Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography) scanner to our BC Cancer Agency here in Kelowna.
This critical diagnostic tool is going to allow oncologists to accurately plan treatment, monitor treatment effectiveness and detect cancer recurrence. The PET/CT scan plays an integral role in a patient’s care, as the most precise and detailed cancer diagnostic tool.
