Description:

The Okanagan Basin Water Board & Okanagan WaterWise present "RiverBlue: Can fashion save the Planet?" Come celebrate UN World Water Day and Canada Water Week (March 19-24). See one of the most compelling films on the fashion industry and its impact on our water.

This award-winning documentary follows B.C.-based Mark Angelo, an internationally-celebrated rivers conservationist, as he explores the textile industry and the resulting pollution in waterways around the world. Spanning the globe to look at one of the world’s most pollutive industries, and speaking with fashion designers and water protectors world-wide, RiverBlue reveals stunning yet shocking images that will change the way we look at how our clothing is made. This groundbreaking documentary examines the destruction of our rivers, its effect on people and the other creatures that depend on clean water, and solutions that can inspire and create a more sustainable future. An exquisitely crafted, fascinating, emotional and moving documentary, RiverBlue will have you questioning how your favorite clothing brands are made.

The film will be followed by a Q&A with film director and Kelowna resident David McIlvride.
