Documentaries: Ethel Lane House & Daylighting the Classroom

The Ethel Lane House follows the story of a Kelowna family building a laneway house to attempt the Living Building Challenge, one of the most rigorous set of building requirements for a completely sustainable building in the world, but also provide a home for their brother, who lives with a mental disability. Daylighting the Classroom tells the story of what happens when school children take up the fight — using art — to uncover the concrete-buried wetland beneath their school grounds and save a species at risk! Both films explore the transformation of the land and the human responsibility to nurture, protect, and coexist with the natural world. Read more
